Ingredients For Your Sous Vide Apples With Cinnamon
4 apples of your choice
3 tablespoons of butter (unsalted)
2 tablespoons of raisins
2 tablespoons of brown sugar (light)
1 tablespoon of cinnamon (ground)
0.25 tablespoon of nutmeg (grated)
0.25 tablespoon of sea salt
0.125 tablespoon of vanilla extract
2 fresh dates that have been pitted
How To Prepare And Cook Your Sous Vide Apples And Cinnamon Desert
The first thing to do is fill your sous vide water bath with water and set the cooking temperature to 183°F (84°C).
Peel the apples and then use an apple corer or a knife to carefully remove the cores. You want to keep the apples intact here. Place the apples in the lemon juice to marinate for a while.
Now you will need to create the filling for the center of the apples. Use a bowl and mix the cinnamon, raisins, dates, nutmeg, vanilla extract, brown sugar, salt and butter. You want to create a paste here which is chunky, so you can use a fork to do this.
Once the filling is ready, divide into four and use the individual portions to fill the center of each of the apples. You will want to compact the filling into each apple by gently pressing it down.
You can use 2 cooking bags or 4 cooking bags and add the apples to them. Make sure that all of the air is removed by vacuum sealing or immersion.
Add the bags to the water bath once the correct temperature has been achieved. You will want to cook your apples for two hours.
When the cooking time is up, you can gently remove the bags with the apples in them from the water bath. When you take the apples out of the bags be careful that they remain whole. Serve the apples warm and add ice cream or whipped cream for a sumptuous desert.
