The Nise Wave WiFi Sous Vide with Adaptive Temperature Control recently shattered it’s Kickstarter campaign goal of $35,000. As of writing this, nearly $90,000 has been pledged to support this new sous vide machine.
The Nise Wave is the newest piece of sous vide equipment that enables you to cook smarter.
What’s that mean exactly? The Nise Wave makes it so all you have to do is tell it how you want your meal cooked, and when you want it ready by! It’s that easy!
Here’s a diagram of the process:
I really think that this is a great solution for people who are looking to begin their sous vide adventures. Sometimes learning new forms of cooking, especially ones that revolve around a particular gadget, can be intimidating for people. The app and device interface seems to be incredibly user friendly – which is definitely going to bode well with consumers.
Public reception to the Nise Wave has been very positive. Here’s what their Co-Founder/CMO Dorian Wilson had to say about their campaign thus far:
“It’s been a long road to get to this point for us, but the enthusiasm we are seeing build around this campaign is making it all worth it.
We owe the success of our campaign to the amazing community of Sous Vide users, like Joe, who are showing us recognition and support!”
Nise Wave Specifications:
Here are the main specs of the Nise Wave Sous Vide Cooker:
- 1,200 Watts (this is HUGE for an immersion circulator)
- Manual Control (or use the app)
- WiFi Enabled
- Water Resistant to IP-67 standards (although I’m not really sure how big of a benefit this is. I haven’t seen many reports of other immersion circulators failing due to water exposure)
- 11 inches long (this is on the smaller end for immersion circulators. Usually they’re around 13 inches)
- Mobile application (which looks very, very promising)
Nise Wave Mobile Application
One of the biggest differentiators of any sous vide machine nowadays is going to be how robust their mobile application is. It’s common to find recipe books, timers, and on/off control from wherever you are.
The advantage that the Nise Wave Mobile Application has is that it makes things easy. We all have so much going on in our lives. The easier, the better.
I’ll have more to come on the mobile application once I can get my hands on the device and play around with it. But given that they’re really promoting the Nise Wave Ecosystem, I am expecting great things from them.
Nise Wave Ecosystem:
Here’s a diagram of that ecosystem I was talking about. Not only are they doing the usual device <-> mobile interaction, but they’re including a plethora of pre-programmed recipes, social media integration, and even coming out with additional products (Nise Spice Packs).
This is all very reminiscent of what Anova has done with their device <-> mobile interaction and their strong community of #AnovaFoodNerds. ChefSteps has also done a great job with their Joule and application (I love that app so much).
Nise Wave Kickstarter Campaign:
As I mentioned above, the Nise Wave Kickstarter campaign is fully-funded. But they’re still taking backers until August 31st. The Kickstarter Nise Wave pricing is $135. You can also pledge a few dollars more and get a hand vacuum sealer and bags.

I’ll be sure to leave a detailed hands-on review of the product once their units begin to ship.
